Elaine Nekritz is serving her seventh term in the Illinois House of Representatives. In 2013, she was named an Assistant House Majority Leader and the following year she was ranked #93 on Chicago magazine’s “100 Most Powerful Chicagoans” list.
Prior to her election as representative of the 57th District in November 2002, Nekritz obtained her law degree from the University of Michigan and was a member of the law firm of Altheimer and Gray, working as a real estate attorney and later becoming a partner with the firm. Nekritz resides in Northbrook with her husband.
