“Freight rail service provides a much needed, heavily utilized mode of transportation for a number of shippers in Kentucky. The Bluegrass automotive industry landscape would not be the powerhouse that it is today without rail. Kentucky ranked 6th nationally in 2011 in originated rail tons of autos and auto parts.”

Juva Barber is a skilled association management professional with more than 17 years of experience in government affairs, communications, public relations, event planning, and strategic planning. As KBT Executive Director, Barber oversees all aspects of the association, which educates and advocates for a safe, sustainable transportation network. KBT is a multimodal trade association that represents all modes of transportation in Kentucky including airports, riverports and river industries, railroads, public transit, and Kentucky’s local road, highway and bridge design and construction industry.

Barber, a Laurel County native, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. She and her husband Chris currently reside in Louisville with their two children.
