Wayne Johnson serves as Vice-Chair of the Bernalillo County Commission and was first elected in 2010. As a strong supporter of economic development, Johnson has led two trade missions to Israel and has supported initiatives that have allowed Bernalillo County to bring in approximately $500 million in private investments, which in turn has created 2500 new jobs. Prior to being elected to the Commission, Johnson served on various volunteer committees and boards, including the District 7 Coalition of Neighborhoods and the Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue Citizens Advisory Committee. He also represents New Mexican interests on the Transportation Steering Committee for the National Association of Counties.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Johnson attended the University of New Mexico, where he worked his way through college in television news as a news photographer. He graduated with a degree in University Studies with an emphasis in Computer Engineering and Film/Television, and he is currently the president of Vista Media, a family-owned business.
