Alexandria, VA – On March 3, hundreds of community leaders and rail advocates converged on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for Railroad Day 2016. The annual event allows GoRail’s advocates and others within the industry to talk to Congress about how rail is benefiting their communities — from strengthening businesses and local economies to decreasing road congestion and pollution.

GoRail was excited to host state legislators and local community leaders from Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin this year.

To highlight some of the issues at stake on social media, GoRail partnered with the Association of American Railroads (AAR) and the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) to ask Railroad Day participants to tweet their #RailDay2016 experiences.
