Mary McKeller is Communications Specialist at GoRail, where she leads digital communications and supports advocacy efforts that build public understanding of freight rail and its role in the nation’s economy. Since joining GoRail in 2025, she has managed the organization’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and digital campaigns, helping connect stakeholders, advocates, and policymakers with issues affecting the freight rail industry.

In her role, Mary develops communications strategies and public affairs materials that advance GoRail’s mission and support its advocacy objectives. She works closely with industry partners and coalition members to communicate the value of freight rail, grow engagement with grassroots advocates in Rail Champions, and expand the organization’s reach through data-driven digital outreach.

Before joining GoRail, Mary worked in the chamber world, where she built experience in public relations, advocacy, and community engagement. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Rhetoric and Communication Studies from the University of Richmond and an M.A. in Rhetoric and Philosophy of Communication from Duquesne University, where her studies focused on communication ethics, community building, and civic engagement.

A native of Brevard, North Carolina, Mary is passionate about using communications to connect people with the issues and opportunities that shape their communities.
