Washington, DC — November 15 marked the second anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), which made over $850 billion in total investments available through 452 different funding areas. Two years along, here are some mile markers for the BIL:

—  We are 40% of the way through the law’s authorizing period.

— Nearly 80% of all competitive funding still left to be awarded (Brookings).

— Formula and direct federal spending have provided over $370 billion to states and direct investment projects so far (White House).

— Over half of BIL’s 5,532 competitive awards were under $1 million; another 29% of awards were between $1 million and $10 million (Brookings).

— BIL has already infused $13 billion into local infrastructure projects (National League of Cities).

When BIL launched two years ago, GoRail also launched a Rail Grant Hub to help community leaders learn about and track funding opportunities related to freight and passenger rail. Explore the hub, which includes detailed information on grant programs as well as timely updates.
